Fear

We have created an incredibly fearful society, be afraid of everything, to protect yourself? It wasn’t that long ago that children played outside, unsupervised, for hours on end. Children playing with other children, their ages of course ranged but they all played together. They went to the bathroom without, wait for it…washing their hands…gasp!! Dirt got in our mouths as we wrestled with one another in the playground. Our parents made us sort out our differences, they knew better than to interfere in meaningless squabbles. If you wanted friends you had to sometimes give in and not hold a grudge. You couldn't run inside and immerse yourself in video games, safe and sound in your fortress of solitude. Spend time with all of your Facebook “friends" as you share what made you sad today 😩😔, and then receive all of those “heartfelt" emojis of sympathy back. You had no choice if you weren’t a person that wanted to be alone, in person was our only option, so buck it up and get back out there.
Fear is by far the most limiting thing in our lives, I feel dumb writing that because it’s been preached for so many years I’m sure everyone has heard it. Yes we've heard it but what about the things we should be afraid of? Knowing danger and experiencing fear are very different, one is in your head the other is in front of you! Fear is a creation through thought, it can overwhelm us with out any evidence something is going to happen. Your body will react to those thoughts, public speaking is an excellent example. Why do some people experience a feeling of dread in their stomach just before getting up to speak? Is it because of the people quietly sitting in the audience or what you are thinking about? I would say that the vast majority sitting in the audience are empathetic to the feelings someone may have as they approach the podium. Their comfort level rises and falls with the speakers, Thats fear, Danger is a grizzly bear charging you, two different things yet one is real. Death is a number one fear that seems to be presented as though they can stop it, “any death is tragic!” Well, you can look at that however you want, but death is non-preventable. Acceptance of things that are out of your control will alleviate a lot of “fear”. No one is happy when someone they love dies, but life involves death, thats a fact.
Politicians use fear to threaten our sensibilities, they create something to distract as they enact their agenda. They divide us through fear so as to have us weaken as opposed to strengthened as one. We can be strong as one nation or weaok as a nation divided into tiny pieces. The division is getting worse by day.
We have to awaken to these agendas, breath and allow them to flow over us with out affect. However, it’s critical that we point out what their goal is and to alert the ones we love to the potential pitfall. We must be careful not to overwhelm with too much information, people will shut down and stop listening. It’s hard for anyone to believe there could actually be evil people in powerful positions, it scares them. Right back to fear…we need to help people see the light without fear.
S.A.Y.
