Dr. Seuss

Apparently his books have become racist, why you might ask, well his depictions of some people don’t reflect how they look in reality. That certainly is true, when I read his books to my children I wasn't thinking they were being indoctrinated into a racist cult, I hoped they would develop an interest in reading. I knew any of the people drawn in his books didn't look anatomically correct just as I knew that the “Cat in a hat” couldn't actually talk or preform magic. Again, it was fantasy for my children to enjoy. I didn't think War and Peace would be of interest to these little children so I choose Dr. Seuss.
Whats happening? Why have we allowed some small loud special interest group to run rough shoot over us? Telling us what someones intentions are. The views of this man are very well documented and to my understanding he was a huge proponent to anti racism. I believe he wrote a book called “The Sneetches” which depicts a group of “fictional” (key word “fictional”) people that their only difference was some had a star on their belly. Naturally they thought there was a difference between them because of this star, on some bellies. I don't want to give the whole story away, just incase someone wants to read it, but, they were all the same on the inside! He didn't suggest that the Star bellied Sneetches were better or worse, the message was that their appearance had nothing to do with supremacy. Wow! A simple children's book debunked racism with an easy to understand message. Now apparently there are still some people out there that believe their skin colour makes them better than another skin colour. I suggest that “The Sneetches” should become mandatory reading, obviously their parents never read it to them!
Don't miss the boat on this and allow someone thats obviously a moron try to shame a man thats been dead for years over this nonsense. He wrote children's books with great messages, I would have never tried “Green eggs and Ham” if it wasn't for Dr. Seuss! Yum
S.A.Y.
